Remember Ricardo Praga´s World 2014 & new UPP international exhibitions 2020

In 2014 United Photo Press member, Ricardo Praga was selected to present the city of Prague at the cover of the José Cordeiro´s new book entitled "O Vício da História".

In the edition of the "WORLD" book from United Photo Press, he will show his Black & White collection named "Bampiros". Ricardo Praga in this collection brings a retro, "noir" and melancholic mood with many other specific ingredients that categorize his style of artwork.

"World" is a Black & White photography book which brings together international artists from areas such as photography and painting to show you "not only what you want to see" but also " what you need to see".

The new edition of "B&W - 30 Years of Creative Artists"  was already announced and its release is expected at October of 2020 where 2 major exhibitions are already planned to introduce the publication to the public.

During October 2020 artists and art enthusiasts will have the chance to visit a stunning exhibition at  Electricity Museam in Madeira Islands, where the collective of artists will be presenting their artworks together with the release of the new book.

The other planned exhibition will be running aduring the month of November 2020, this time in Moscow at Sakharov Center

These exhibitions are certainly a great occasion to see part of Ricardo Praga´s "World".

David LaChapelle - An unique exhibition in Vienna

“Once in the Garden” is the title of the exhibition by the artist/photographer David LaChapelle which started on the 2nd of June 2014 and is closing already on the 15th of September at the Gallery OstLicht, in the city of Vienna.

The Gallery OstLicht brings to the public very well known photographs of the artist but also 3 series of his recent artworks. The exhibition features exclusive materials showing for the first time in Europe and a collection of pictures developed specifically for the Life Ball (Biggest Charity event supporting people with HIV running every year in Vienna).

This is indeed a great opportunity to finally get to know or to follow the artwork of one of the greatest World known photographers which his oeuvre have has been described as "hyper-real and slyly subversive" and as "kitsch pop surrealism”.

The Contemporary artist Ricardo Praga, member of the United Photo Press, had the chance to interview the Curator of the Gallery, Sophie Haslinger, which was part of the team setting the exhibition.

Ricardo Praga with Hollywood star Armand Assante

The Hollywood actor Armand Assante was at the Sarajevo Film Festival where he introduced the short film entitled “The Fix” to the Sarajevo public. The short film is directed by Ante Novaković which was also present at the festival.

Assante, mostly known in movies such as: “Guido”, “Judge Dredd”, “American Gangsters” and “Once Upon a time in Brooklyn” decided to embrace the project from Ante Novajović in order to support new film-makers to get to be known to the world. Assante as a Hollywood star have participated in almost 100 movies but nowadays dedicate his time to co-produce films in countries like Argentina and Kazakhstan and cooperate as an actor in films from young directors with hope to bring the best of them to the public.

The contemporary artist Ricardo Praga, member of the United Photo Press, has joined Assante and Novaković for a Coffee where the Hollywood star have highlighted specially his passion in nurturing young filmmakers. The idea of future cooperation with new ideas and projects was open at the table for anyone with a “can do” attitude and the proper potential. Assante became a surprise for the festival by showing his willingness to provide everyone with the same kind of opportunity in the cinema Industry.

Assante has began his career in 1974 and since then have been nominated 4 times for the Golden Globe Awards. In the past two years, he has been working on ESCORT SERVICE, FORSAKING ALL OTHERS, JEANS GENERATION, CARPET BOY, LANDLOCKED, ANGEL OF DEATH, FIRST LAW, BLOWTORCH, MONTEVIDEO, VIDIMO SE! ASSUMED KILLER, HUNTING THE PHANTOM, A FINE STEP and BLIND PASS which are all in the pre-production or post-production stages and which we will have the opportunity to watch in the future.
